Let’s Talk Turkey!
I recently did a freelance job for Tums. My job was to come up with character concepts for a menacing Thanksgiving Dinner that would be used in Tums’ “Angry Food” campaign. I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials, but my job was for the print version. The crazy part of this whole project was that my final concept was created out of actual food. Yeah, the agency I worked with went to the grocery and bought food and made my character out of the stuff they purchased…then they photographed it! That’s old school.
I can’t show you much more than one of my preliminary sketches that didn’t make the cut because the final ad doesn’t hit grocery stores until this fall. I ended up submitting about 15 different ideas. Even though this guy didn’t get chosen, I still like him. I’d like to think he could give you indigestion, or at least gas. Ha!
